I had 23 vials of blood taken today!!!!
They did all the blood tests and glucose today - did anyone have to give all of this blood????
It hurt so much too because my veins stink - they start to move and stop giving blood - I needed to be stuck 3 times in different places to get all the blood out... their policy is after 3 "hits" I need to come back - I tod the woman to get the blood out of me, cuz I'm not doing this again!
They all finally got filled - another nurse came into the room to see what was taking so long because it wok almost 40 minutes1
i hope everything comes out ok!!!!

that does seem like a lot. I had to give like 8 or 9. DO you have a hereditary illness or trait for something that required them to do all of that extra blood testing.
Glad you made it through

I'm 11 weeks, but I have family members with diabetes, so they wanted to be cautious....
I got tested for Tay-Sachs because of my Eastern European ancestry (most Jews test for that), Cystic Fibrosis, HIV, and various other genetic testing on top of it....

I am also of jewish descent and usually they do take more for that but usually it is about 14 but I guess maybe it was more for you bc the diabetes testing as well. Sounds NUTS for someone who has severe MS and probably is dehydrated. Why in the world would they take that much blood from you? Maybe you should call and question it.

I was supposed to go last week, but obviously didnt because of the bad MS - I went today because I had almost a week of keeping food and liquid down thanks to the Zofran, but the woman asked me if I drank enough water today when my veins werent giving out the blood they should have....
I'll call my dr. tomorrow....

Ahh ok, 23 does seem excisive but if you have history of certain things or a genitic probability of having them I can almost understand. I had 4 including the AIDS test. One was for blood typing, Measles antibodies, CBC and something else. I didnt have any genitic testing.
