donating baby items
I had my shower this weekend and I received a lot of doubles and triples of items I don't really need. They are items that I know I will not be able to return to BRU or BBB or any other chain store. I hate cluter so instead of throwing these items away, I would like to donate they to mother's and babies who are kess fortunate than myself. Anyone know where I can do this? I was thinking the salvation army but I think they sell donated items. I would rather have the items I donate be given to someone vs having them buy them.

Re: donating baby items
What about donating to local churches? They will give to less fortunate families that are in need.

Re: donating baby items
I would definitely speak with your local parish; they would probably take the clothes for you and donate them to the appropriate charities.

I'm not sure where you're located but Bridge to Life is a great charity and they have two locations in Queens: Flushing and Astoria. I'm SURE they're always in need of donations...

Re: donating baby items
If you're on LI, why not contact the Ronald McDonald House near LIJ in New Hyde Park and see if they'd be interested in your donated items? They get babies and their families coming through there for treatment and I'm certain they could use whatever you have to spare!
Here is their contact info from their website:
The "House That Love Built" invites you to find out more about our Mission and how you can become involved. You may:
* send an email to our general mailbox ([email protected]) * call (516) 775-5683 or (718) 343-5683 * write to:
The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island 267-07 76th Avenue New Hyde Park, NY 11040

I think it's super of you to think this way and want to donate extra supplies! You are truly a beautiful person!

Re: donating baby items
I work at St. Mary's Hospital for Children in Bayside (Queens) and we are always in need of baby stuff! There are so many places that are in need and I think it is very generous of you to donate!
