donating/selling appliances
We will have a white gas stove in our new place next week that we will be getting rid of because it doesnt match our new appliances.. I'd hate to throw it away.... so my first thought was to sell it since it's relatively new.... and my 2nd was donate it to charity.... would habitat for humanity take appliances? do you know of any other place?

Re: donating/selling appliances
do you just want to give it away not necessarily to charity? If so, put it on Craigslist.

Re: donating/selling appliances
I believe you can also donate it the salvation army. If you do you get a receipt and you can claim it on your taxes next yr.

Re: donating/selling appliances
thanks. The refrigerator and dishwasher I'd donate or just have PCRichards take away I think. The stove is like new and in good condition - less than a year old they say, so I'd rather not give it away for free or throw it away. I'd rather make a little money or do something good by giving it to charity...

I definitely think Craigslist is the way to go.

I didn't know you could donate appliances. That's so good to know.

Re: donating/selling appliances
Our RE lawyer was recently telling us that we she re-did her kitchen and tried to donate her appliances, and NO ONE would come and take them from her. I know she tried Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, etc...She was so disappointed. I think she just wound up throwing them away.
