Donating your Wedding Gown

I had seen some postings regarding donations of wedding items and I thought I would share the information on bridal gown donation.

I absolutely loved my bridal gown, but did not want to pay big $$$ to have it cleaned and preserved. I also didn't have any place to store it, so I did some research and decided to pay it forward and donate my wedding gown.

I found a not for profit online called "The Bridal Garden". The dress itself will be resold and all the proceeds go to benefit over 3,000 disadvantaged children and their families through educational, welfare, career development and health care programs.

Bridal Garden is located in NYC, (around the block from Kleinfelds) and I made an appointment and dropped off the dress on a Saturday afternoon.

I can't tell you how thrilled I am. Aside from being able to help children, I also benefit from the donation tax write-off.

For more info please feel free to FM me.

The website is:

I've been tempted to do this. Probably when my mom sells her house and I don't have anywhere to store it

Re: Donating your Wedding Gown

Thanks for posting this. I cleaned out my closets recently and I was wondering what to do with my wedding gown. I've been married for over 3 years!

Thanks! This is such a great idea and at least it will go towrds helping someone as opposed to sitting in my closet.

So happy I could be of help :)

Think of all the free closet space..plus you will help some children...plus I am sure you can use the tax write-off (who can't!)
