This is not the solution to your money problems sweetie. Selling your wedding gown is not going to make the issue go away.

I completely agree with the previous poster - however if you really want to sell it I would try ebay or LIW.

very true
not only that, but you will probably only get a small fraction of what you paid. I wouldn't sell it.

Regarless, its something. Plus, what do i need it for? I have NO intention on preserving it. I want to pay for Matts party and this is a great way to do it!! I have no use for it and its hangiong collecting dust when i can make back maybe 1/2 of what was paid for it!

Re: Selling my wedding gown
I honestly think you may regret this.
I think if you are having money issues, the party needs to be cancelled. You are only digging yourself deeper. But, it is your decision.

Not to be pushy or anything and please do not take this the wrong way but can you postpone having the party for your DH until you are financially comfortable to do so?

Most used gowns don't go for more than a few hundred on ebay. Would you be willing to settle for that?

Re: Selling my wedding gown
I honestly wouldn't sell it, it is a beautiful gown and you may want to make a christening gown out of it or something one day. I think it is going to be a PITA to sell and you are going to be disappointed when you don't get alot for it. I would just cancel the party and have a nice romantic dinner for the two of you. That would be a perfect 30th birthday to me anyways. I'm sure he would just want to spend the time with you and doesn't really care about the party. You guys just had a wedding, make his birthday about just the two of you. If you have your heart set on a party, how about next year for your 1 year anniversary or something, when money is better.

I agree... the christening gown sounds really nice!!! I think that if you're stressed out, maybe try to plan something for the two of you to enjoy together. I know it's a tough situation, but you ahve to do what's best for you and your hubby....
hope all works out for you!!
ETA: in relation to your other post, I would consider all other options before selling the gown. See what happens with your other options first.

I hear ya, I'm not planning to keep mine for long. I would try craigslist - tons of traffic on there.

Re: Selling my wedding gown
you can sell it- im sure ebay will get you some good $$$
however, im keeping mine so my future daughter or niece can play with it... my moms dress was not preserved and it yellowed and it was sad...i had always wanted to try it on and at leastt have the option to wear it if i wanted..
