agreed. I am educated and very well paid for what I do. But if I wasn't on my DH's health insurance, I would be paying 1000+ a month for insurance. I could take a much lower paying job outside of my skill for benefits, but that is just not smart and ultimately not a good life choice. MANY businesses have and are taking advantage and negotiating lower health care and less pension benefits.
ITA. I have my own small business and for a family of 4, I pay $1500/month for a health insurance plan

Just an update on the payraise for all the fed employees out there. Congress went over Bush and approved 3.97% as opposed to the 3.23%!

Be grateful...we are only looking at 3% over the next two years and then a whopping 4% in 2010.
