Seriously - bullying is the buzz word right now---it's the new fetch!!
This poster was just as greedy as Janet and had the balls to post a Walmart wish list asking people to "donate" to her and her kids. The list included things like a flat screen tv....for real??
I don't care what she's saying today, she was no worse than Janet and whatever family crap they have going on, I don't care about that either. She should probably just forget this site because too many old posters remember the GREED.
I dont disagree with ANYTHING you all say. And yes, I *was* around for all of it.
All I'm saying is havent they had enough? I dont agree with anything they say. They arent good people.
But is there a point where this board has given them enough ?

I know most of you are enjoying this but honestly it's making me feel worse.
There are many posters, poster's families who struggle every freaking day. EVERY DAY with finances. We have posters & husbands of posters that have been out of work for over a year. Yet, they don't ask. Not only don't they ask, they OFFER HELP. There are people on here who are privately struggling with finances, with devastating illnesses & don't ask for fear of looking like they're asking for a handout. I will allow that it's possible that a personal situation is driving that anger because I have a family member in that position.
But I am so damn angry over this. Over Janet, over her sister, her birth mom, & her stupid friends who ask for things on her behalf. What happened to Janet was a tragedy. What happened to her house was her responsibility - and yet this community stepped up.
I'm disgusted with myself that yesterday a poster's husband passed away & I sat at my computer thinking "is this a scam? Is she trying to get something from us?" - and I wasn't alone. - WHICH WAS NOT A SCAM, NOT A REQUEST FOR A HANDOUT
There's not a doubt in my mind that Janet is reading this. THIS IS THE RESULT OF YOUR ACTIONS, YOU PIECE OF CRAP.

It sucks Barb.. it really does. I'm sorry it is making you feel bad. I don't know, but I suspect that many struggling people don't ask for help because they can't imagine asking. I mean I have my own problems but I think of all the people in the world who have it SO much worse! How could I possibly hold out my hand? The idea of it is just ABSURD.
Janet is a unique kind of myopic person. She saw only her own desperation and her own need and had no challenge taking and taking despite the needs of others. MOST people are not like that. I have to believe that. I just HAVE to.
I won't - I REFUSE - to allow the takers and the greedy grubbers of the world to tarnish my desire and determination to give as much as I possibly can, WHENEVER and HOWEVER I can. Sometimes it's just a prayer or a sympathetic word and sometimes I am glad to have more to offer. I might be taken advantage of once in a while.. but it's better than to let some creep keep me from opening my heart to those truly in need.

i saw the other post yesterday, and i have to say, the thought went through my mind as well. it is sad, that i thought it because of this lunatic. what janet and her sister did is unthinkable, deplorable, and disgusting. it is ridiculous that her sister came on here and even commented on this thread, adding more drama and fuel to the fire. i feel bad for those of you who got scammed because you truly did what you did out of charity and concern. you should be proud of yourselves for being so kind and generous. yes, it leaves you jaded when things like this happen. i think that a lesson has to come out of this: as nice as you want to be, and open up your wallet and your heart, you just have to make sure that you are not being taken for a fool. there are a lot of people who really need the help, and also alot of people who take advantage of others. who think that the world owes them something. there are alot of people in this world like janet. it's unfortunate, but true. these are tough times, i think every single one of us feel it. every one of us has to work a little bit harder to put food on the table and take care of our families. it's not fair when people out there expect a handout, over and over and over again. shame on janet, and her sister especially. i really don't care how she says that she knows what she did was wrong, and apologizes. she is trying to play on the heartstrings of people on this site. making people think that she knows what she did is wrong, so people still continue to have pity on her. I hope that the majority of LIF saw that post, and start to see her for what she is. I am actually really happy that she posted on here, because i had no idea who she was until i saw it. and now i will know when she starts asking for handouts, because i am sure she will.

This thread was definitely eye-opening. I've been around LIF since it began (even though I rarely post, I do read most days) and remember when everyone went out of their way to help Janet. I had no idea that all this behind-the-scenes stuff had gone on.
It is such a shame that one bad egg ruins things for others.
