Door Store ruined Thanksgiving. UPDATE: they are the devil, aren't they
they won't give me a couch for people to sit on, so we can't invite people over and I can't make thanksgiving dinner in our house.
I am a cry-y whiney baby now.
now I have to mooch an invite off a random family member or stranger.
11/25 UPDATE:
our couch will be deliverd SATURDAY. 2 days AFTER thanksgiving.
what a cruel cruel world.
in the very least though, we will have it for Christmas.
now to it fits through the door.

Re: Door Store ruined Thanksgiving.
That blows!
Would it be a waste to rent couches for guests from somewhere like Rent-A-Center just for that week???

Re: Door Store ruined Thanksgiving.
You can still have Thanksgiving! Just use some fluffy pillows for floor seating... and a couple of folding chairs & chairs from your dining room table for those with bad backs.

Re: Door Store ruined Thanksgiving.
I had an apartment warming party with out any place for people to sit! Levitz held my couch hostage for months.
Do you have a dining room set? You could move the chairs into the living room for sitting & then back to the table for eating.

Re: Door Store ruined Thanksgiving.
That sucks that you won't have your sofa in time.
Thanksgiving is all about the people and the food!! Don't let a sofa ruin it for you. Put a bed in your living room against the wall and turn it into a sofa bed. Or put in a call for emegency chairs, have everyone bring a chair with them. Last year I had my family over for Christmas breakfast. Our table was sheetrock that was set up on saw horses.
If that doesn't work go for something more traditional. Invite all of your neighbors over. Set up an outdoor turkey roast after sharing a nice meal with them kill them and steal their land.

1. OFFER: sleeper sofa, wood desk, more gift boxes - Montgomery Posted by: "gifts4u2treasure" [email protected] gifts4u2treasure Thu Nov 13, 2008 5:14 am (PST) Sleeper sofa is 7ft wide. Not in bad shape but not perfect either. Blue with small rose colored diamonds. Very heavy. Need a few really strong people to carry this out. Bed part has not been used much. The couch is so comfortable and long enough that any guests were happy just using the couch. Desk is wooden with drawers on both sides. Would be great for college student or small office or even a craft area. Gift boxes. We seem to have been saving for years. We just keep finding more. Please send phone # with e-mail of interest for quick correspondence. Thanks.

Don't tlet them ruin your Thanksgiving!!

Re: Door Store ruined Thanksgiving.
I made thanksgiving without a couch the first year we had our home - what I did was say it was BYOC. Bring your own chair - it was absolutely fine. Everyone had a great time.

Re: Door Store ruined Thanksgiving.
again, thank you all for the suggestions.
but we want to wait until everything is they way we'd like it to be before we open our home up to holiday functions.
I appreciate your suggestions!
I have resigned myself to knocking Christmas OUT THE BOX!
