Dora Live at Smithtown Theatre
Has anyone taken their DC to see Dora Live in Smithtown? I am taking my DD tomorrow and am curious if it is good, if I need to get there really early to get good seats, etc.

Re: Dora Live at Smithtown Theatre
we went today. My 2.5yr old twins loved it. I thought it was really cute. We had ordered tickets on line in advance. But when we got there about 20 minutes before the show the lobby was packed. By showtime the theater was packed just not sure how many bought in advance as opposed to at the door. I don't think there are really any bad seats. It is a small theater and you should be fine where ever you sit. Have fun.

Re: Dora Live at Smithtown Theatre
We had gone last summer with 4, three year olds & all loved it. The show wasn't too long & there is an intermission & the kids got into it.
We also got our tixs ahead of time & there was a lobby full of people when we got there.
I'd recommend it though, the kids really enjoyed it.

We went today... Me, Landon, my MIL, 2 nieces, and 1 nephew. The kids all loved it. We had out tix in advance since we had 6 of us to sit together, but you can buy tix at the door. Like someone else said, there really are no bad seats in the place. Have fun!

Re: Dora Live at Smithtown Theatre
A few ?
May be stupid but the show is people in costumes?
And is there assigned seats and what kind of seats are they (cushioned or hard plastic)?
Also where do you park?

We went on Monday and it was great! Every child I was with was fully engaged in the performace and they ranged from 15 months to 6 years old.
The people were in costumes, but not a big dora head. The faces were of the actors.(if that makes senses no masks).
Yes, we had an assigned seat. I believe it was cushioned and even had booster seats for the little ones.
We parked in the shopping center to the east of the theater, but our friends parked more to the west side.
I have to say I was nervous bringing my two year old girls to see this without my husband there, but they were so into it that it was easier than brining them to the park.

Re: Dora Live at Smithtown Theatre
Dora and Diego were just regular people dressed in their clothes. The animals were costumes with a circle cut out with the actors entire face coming through. Not scary for the kids at all, if thats what you were worried about.

Re: Dora Live at Smithtown Theatre
The seats are cushioned like movie theater seats. They have plastic booster seats to pit on top for the little ones.

Re: Dora Live at Smithtown Theatre
Thank you! I think we will go. I was expecting to see a big costume Dora head. Hope DD still likes it with regular people faces...but I guess she will if the music is familiar, etc.

Oh good, it sounds like fun. I have my tickets already, so hopefully the seat are good-- my friend got them, so I don't know where they are located.
