DPO, CD...could we go over these?

I know there is a lingo thread...read it..still trying to get it.

Can we explain this to me so I can understand it better?

DPO....how long is that suppose to be?
Until You get AF?

Then AF IS CD???

I know it is really confusing and I hope you won't have to chart too long

I actually did a lame chart through webmd. There are alot of other websites out there to chart too.

Honestly, I read through tons and tons of posts before I really started to understand anything at all.

I also suggest looking up Redstar's post. She really has so much knowledge and was so helpful to anyone who was TTC. I learned so much just from reading what she wrote.

CD is cycle day - which means your entire cycle from day one of your period to day one of your next period.

So,you are on CD whatever number (say 1-28) the entire cycle. You start counting DPO (days past ovulatation) AFTER you ovulate.

So, this is very typical, and not at all the "norm" but for example.

CD1-5 is your period (first few days of cycle)

then say you ovulate about day 14 of your cycle, that's CD14. After your ovulate, you are in your 2 week wait until your next period (or until you can test to see if you made a baby!). Those days are DPO.

The DPO is considered your luteal phase and should more or less be the same every month. It should be at least 10 days for you to get pregnant (from what I've read).
