Dr. Browns vs. Playtex Drop-Ins
Hello everyone, I am new to this forum. My DS was born 6 weeks early, so now I have a lot to learn in a very short time. He has just gotten home from the hospital, and is doing well.
I bought 2 different kinds of bottles: Dr. Browns and Playtex Drop-Ins. I don't know if one is better than the other, or if it is just a matter of preference. I would love some opinions .

Re: Dr. Browns vs. Playtex Drop-Ins
I can give you my thoughts on the ones I used. The Drop Ins. They were fairly easy as far as maintenance. My SIL used Dr Browns and she said it takes forever to clean them as there are so many parts.
We tried a couple other bottles (Playtex Ventaire and Avent) and DS preferred the Drop Ins so we stuck with it.
DH and I talked about the Dr Brown's, thinking maybe DS would have held the bottle on his own sooner if we'd used Dr Brown's, as they are slimmer than the Drop Ins. Not long after that discussion, DS started holding the bottle on his own. Go figure.
I feel it is a matter of preference
ETA: Congrats and welcome!!

Re: Dr. Browns vs. Playtex Drop-Ins
First of all congrats!!! We use the drop ins and I love them. We tried Dr. Browns and did not care for them. Too much work to clean and I felt it did not help with gas.

Re: Dr. Browns vs. Playtex Drop-Ins
we use the drop ins, my thought was to try these first because they are so much easier to clean than then dr browns. DS had minor reflux issues, and lots of gas issues in the beginning, but after switch formulas we still use the drop ins and have no more issues.
My friend's DS was also 6 weeks early and has bad acid reflux, on meds, special formula, so they use the dr browns.

Re: Dr. Browns vs. Playtex Drop-Ins
Thanks for the advice. I guess I'll try them both for a couple of days each and see which one DS likes or if he doesn't care either way.

Re: Dr. Browns vs. Playtex Drop-Ins
The only way to know is to try. Personally I don't care for drop-ins but I LOVE Dr Browns. I used them with my DD and now with my DS. I just dishwasher them so the parts do not bother me.

I do not like the drop ins either, because you cant put them in the warmer, and when you run the bottle under hot water to warm it, the bag expands and I am never really sure how much I am feeding him, and I think it is a bit more gassy. I switched to the DR Browns and love them
