Dr. says only frozen washcloths and cold teething rings for teething...
and tylenol once a day for when the tooth starts coming through.
DS is miserable - why can't I use anything else? Any suggestions for things your Dr said are ok?

I have Gentle Naturals Homeopathic Teething Drops someone gave me but don't know if they work. (No teeth yet)
If you dc is 6mo+ you can try Motrin. I've heard it works better then Tylenol.

Re: Dr. says only frozen washcloths and cold teething rings for teething...
I respect your doctor's suggestions but...
If my son wakes up at night crying in pain...I can't get that tylenol to him fast enough. There have been plenty of nights where he's had two (properly spaced) doses. I do find that in the day he can work through it since he's so easily distracted but at night...poor guy is a mess sometimes.
I agree with the tablets...those are helpful. Also if your child is eating solids...maybe chill the fruit or something and serve somewhat cold. My son loves the cold feeling when he's teething.

I like the orajel swabs.
Also, I was told by a nurse to freeze a banana

"Kotka" recommended this stuff - that she said worked GREAT for her son.
They sell it at Wild by Nature Markets

I agree...Durning the day I don't usually give them anything because like Ang said they get distracted. I do use the Oral-gel swabs durning the day though and at night. At night I put that on then give her motrin (she is +6 months) and that helps her at night
