I him, but he is definately not as hand holding as I hear Rosenfeld is. So know you are getting a diligent RE, who wont miss a thing, but who is not very chatty and is pretty conservative.

Re: Dr. Scholl of North Shore LIJ Human Reroduction
I am not an IVF patient, rather an IUI patient. Dr. Rosenfeld was my primary RE but Dr. Scholl did the IUI that got me PG. I found him to be lovely. I don't see any reason for you not to like him. He was actually at my gym on the machine behind me just a few days after my IUI when I was in my 2ww. Needless to say he did not quite recognize me when I said hi. I suppose he didn't spend much time examining my face.
Personally, I am not a fan of hand-holders. I need brutal honesty, excellent prognostic and diagnostic skills and surgical proficiency. After having met all but one of the NSUH docs, I found the ones that I did meet to ALL be rather conservative and on the same page in terms of how they treat patients. They are all excellent physicians. Just remember that Dr. R probably hired him in the first place since he started the practice.
Had I needed IVF, I would trust any doc there to get me there.
Good luck!

Re: Dr. Scholl of North Shore LIJ Human Reroduction
Dr Scholl is not a nicey nicey dr, but he knows his job is to get a baby in your house and he (and his whole team) will do everything they can to make that happen. Regardless of who your primary Dr is, you will see all the Drs in the practice
I have been a patient for 5 IVFs and got 2nd opinions from Cornell, SIRM and NYU between #3 & #4, and we ultimately decided to stay with NSUH and Dr Scholl
Best of luck

Re: Dr. Scholl of North Shore LIJ Human Reroduction
Also remember that depending on your time for appnts etc, your gonna see them all.
Dr. Chu is my offical RE but for my IVF cycle, I needed early morning appnts and I only saw her once ( for my ER)...Throughout the entire 3 month cycle from start to finish.
All the Dr's are nice and in their own ways make you feel comfortable. Its best to try to gain a rapport with them all IMO.
Good luck!

Re: Dr. Scholl of North Shore LIJ Human Reroduction
I have to say that I saw all the Dr's there and I thought they were kind, compassionate and professional, agreed not all of them are "touchy feely" but they know what they are doing and at the end of the day that is what counts. Good luck

Re: Dr. Scholl of North Shore LIJ Human Reroduction
I saw Dr. Scholl twice while I was stimming. He seemed nice for the quick 5 minute visits. I usually see Dr. Cohen and really like him. Dr. Chu did my ER and transfer and she was great too.

Re: Dr. Scholl of North Shore LIJ Human Reroduction
I saw him a lot during my year there. He was the one that did my transfer that worked. He's not a hand holder, but he knows his stuff.
He did get very excited and even joked with me when we found out I was pregnant. He definitely has a soft side - it just takes a lot of visits with him before he shows it.
I was turned off at first, but him and Chu are my favorite...Cohen is a close 2nd :)
He's also in charge of the infertilty grant, so if you need assistance, he's not a bad guy to know!

Re: Dr. Scholl of North Shore LIJ Human Reroduction
I've never met Dr. Scholl, but I have met all the other doctors. NSU team is really top notch. Getting anyone of the doctors is a good thing. Honestly I don't think you need to worry.
