Dr. Trongone patients-anyone do an elective induction with him?-UPDATE
Just wondering what your experience was like! TIA!
ETA: Guess I should've seen the controversy/questions coming! If any of Dr. Trongone's patients have done an elective induction (I was induced due to medical issues before but never an elective) with him maybe you could just FM me. TIA!
UPDATE: I ended up being induced (semi elective-I was having BP issues and headaches but not pre-e) and everything couldn't have gone smoother. Dr. Trongone was wonderful as always. Labor, delivery, and recovery has been easier than the first one! Thanks for those who took the time to respond. I really appreciate it!

Dr. Trongone patients-anyone do an elective induction with him?
Out of curiosity, why would you do an elective induction? Is he suggesting it for some reason?
I was induced with DD1 (not with him) and am trying to avoid being induced at all costs again.

Yeah I'm curious too...I'm doing whatever I can to go on my own this time, no matter how late!

I would not do an elective induction. Inductions are tough if your body is nto ready so unless there was a medical reason to have the baby I would not choose one.

Your question was not about if you should have one, but those who did with Trongone to share their experience, right? I'll FM you.

Was not at all starting controversy - was just trying to understand. I was induced with DD1 and switched to Trongone for this pregnancy. I want to make sure he isn't pushing elective inductions because I am trying hard to avoid one. FM me if you prefer.

He doesn't seem to "push" elective inductions but he will offer them to women if the conditions are favorable. So, he may not even offer you the option to be induced but if he does he leaves the decision up to you.

Re: Dr. Trongone patients-anyone do an elective induction with him?
I've had 2 C sections w/ Dr. Trongone. -The first after a long labor, and the second, I elected (he offered me the option of the VBAC and I wasn't interested)
Did he say WHY he was suggestiong an induction? Are you complainng of being uncomfortable or "done" ?
He's really not the type to force anything - at least I have never gotten that impression of him.
Ask him to explain it to you a bit more, and if you don't want to be induced, just tell him you'd rather wait -

Oh, he's definitely not forcing/pushing anything! He just offered me the option since I'm 70% effaced and 3 cm dilated. I'm just trying to decide about doing it. I had a great experience being induced last time but it was for medical reasons and I'm just anxious about doing it this time around. I actually called this morning to decline for tomorrow but I still have a week and a half before he induces b/c you're late so I can still elect to have it done next week.

I just wanted to tell you that I had semi elective inductions with both my girls under similar situations, but with a different doctor. With my first I was 100% effaced and 4cm when I was started on pitocin, I delivered her 3 hrs after the pitocin was started. I also was induced with my second, checked into the hospital at 4 and was at 7, without having a single painful contraction, when the pitocin was started. I delivered 30 minutes later. While, I wouldn't say it's for everyone, under the right conditions it's possible to have a great delivery even when being induced.
ETA: I was 40 weeks exactly with my first and 39.2 with my second.

Dr. Trongone patients-anyone do an elective induction with him?-UPDATE
Glad to hear all went well! Congrats!
BTW - he did bring it up at my 36w appointment, saying that if I am a few cm later on and want to be induced it is entirely up to me.

Re: Dr. Trongone patients-anyone do an elective induction with him?-UPDATE
My doctor offers this as well. At 39 weeks if there's progress she will offer an elective induction. I had it with my s's and had a great experience. If I go till 39 weeks with this one (I'm convinced that she's coming any day now) and I am dialated/effaced I plan on taking the elective induction. I'm glad u had a great experience!

Good luck with everything! You're in great hands! He really is great in the delivery room and is completely on top of everything.
