drainage at c-section site - maybe TMI
I had a c- section 10 days ago. I noticed today that I have some drainage at the incision site.
I called my dr's office. They said it was common, and to keep an eye on it, and watch for infection. I am supposed to call back or go in if I get fever.
My check-up is this Friday so I am not too worried, but I was wondering if anyone else had this issue.

I didn't have that with my csections, but I did have it recently with another abdominal surgery. It went away within a day or 2.

Re: drainage at c-section site - maybe TMI
I had some "puss" for the first 2 weeks. It acutally scared me and I was worried it was infected. Dr said it was normal not to worry " I was healing beautifully" Well it never was more than a minor thing and I did heal well and after maybe 3 or 4 weeks all the scabs and everything was gone. Now 5 months later I totally am unaware of my incision (except when DS gives it a good kick as he did this weekend!)

I never had a c-section, but I did have an appendectomy, and I remember there was some drainage from that. Nothing happened though, it was fine.

I had a c-section and there was a little drainage at the incision site, you should be okay. But just watch for a fever or what seems to be an excess of it.

Yes I had drainage.
Let it drain as best you can, even lay on whatever side it's draining from to let gravity help.
Keep a close watch on your temperature, I did develop some further complications.

ITA with this. Get some double-sided gauze and put it over it and lay toward the side it is draining.

Re: drainage at c-section site - maybe TMI
I did have drainage, but my incision got infected so I don't know if it was normal drainage or had to do with the c-section itself. My doc said take note if the area turns red, gets warm, or starts to develop an odor.
