Personally, I would leave in the evening right after dinner. Stick PJs on the baby, and more than likely, your baby will sleep the entire way.

It will be ok!

Re: driving to pittsburg with 9 month old

We drove to NC and back a few weeks ago. We left at 10 pm and DS slept the entire way there, so I highly recommend driving through the night if you can do it.

DH and I took turns driving in 2-3 hour shifts... whoever wasn't driving was taking a nap. It was great to not have to worry about dealing with an awake DS.

Have fun!

If you can drive at night I highly recommend. I drove by myself with DD during the day on a four hour trip and after awhile she was not happy back there anymore. She was 9 months old.

DH and I just drove to Tennessee 3 weeks ago with DD who just turned 8 months. It's not as bad as it seems...but then again a 15 hour trip is never fun even without a baby.

Def. leave at night if you can & if your still using the baby car seat put DC to sleep in the car seat. I also brought bagels & TONS of her fav. cookies for DD to chew on and I also packed quite a few toys for her to play with.

We made semi-frequent stops for her to crawl around the back of our truck and stretch. It was also good for DH and I to move around too.
