How do you know if you "dropped" in the last month of pregnancy and when does it happen?

I was told you could drop also called "lightening" 2 weeks before delivery - some women drop the day of. its varies.
You may know because you may start to walk funny since the baby is so low and aleady engaged in your hips and you start to wobble and walk funny.
