DS has been sleeping on and off all day - I'm worried
DS is 4 months and I can never get him to go down for more than two, 1/2 hr naps a day (and that's a good day).
Today he's been taking 1-2 hour naps with 1 -2 hours awake in between (to eat) all day.
He doesn't have a temp and he slept well last night - is this a growth spurt or should I be worried that he's getting sick?

DS slept like that when he was having a growth spurt. I would give it a day and see what happens tomorrow.

Re: DS has been sleeping on and off all day - I'm worried
Reese did that once and she didn't have a fever at 1st so i didn't do anything about it then all of a sudden she got a fever so i took her to the doc and she had a double ear infection. keep checking on him and if he still doesn't seem right i would have his ears checked.

Re: DS has been sleeping on and off all day - I'm worried
funny you should say that, jonah did the exact same thing yesterday. all he did was sleep and nurse all day - literally. i was also nervous that he was getting sick, especially since there is a terrible cold going around day care. but knock on wood, today he is fine, so i'm thinking it was a growth spurt or something like that...
ETA: DS is 3 months, 1 week old

Re: DS has been sleeping on and off all day - I'm worried
My DS is 6 weeks, and he slept a ridiculous amount the last couple days, plus slept a lot at night too. I know he is supposed to go through a growth spurt now.
Is he eating and acting normally when he's awake? If he is, he's probably fine, may just need more sleep for whatever reason. If you are really worried though, call your dr.

Thanks everyone. He's his normal happy self when awake, but I'll keep an eye on him tomorrow to make sure he's ok.
