Ds has to see a urologist - has anyone used Dr. Wasnick?
...because his circumcision did not heal properly. Our ped. recommended Dr. Wasnick at Stony Brook. Does anyone have any feedback on this dr?
On a side note, I am pretty upset with his pediatricians right now. DS's penis never looked right to me and was told that it was normal for months. I asked about it at EVERY visit. ( Was told he would grow into it, that he had a big fat pocket behind it and when that decreased it would look normal.) Today he saw a different dr. at the practice and she said it did not heal properly and we have to go to the urologist. Would anything have been different if we saw a urologist earlier?

Yes, we used him and LOVE him. He's great. He's a little wacky, but a good/fun wacky. Obviously DD had a different issue than Landon, but Dr. Wasnick was great. We had an office visit with him back in August, then he performed a procedure on DD in the hospital in October, and he was FANTASTIC explaining the whole procedure, recovery, etc...he was there to answer any & all questions after the procedure in the hospital.
He was great! I highly recommend him.
I hope Landon's problem is a simple one and it's better in no time

My sister used him for my nephew. Her short "review" is below in Related Topics. She was very happy with him.

We are using Dr. Palmer of Pediatric Urology in New Hyde Park for Ryan's Hypospadia's surgery.
Here is a link to his bio: link
So far he has been nothing less than amazing. I won't go into detail here about it. Anyway, his office is very professional and appointments are usually running on time. He is affiliated with LIJ (New Hyde Park)/Schneider's Children's hospital.
FM me any questions you may have. BTW - my nephew had to have his circumsion redone as well. Apparently boys have a 1 in 4 chance of needed it redone when the procedure is done in the hospital.

He's great. He has a great bedside manner and is such a nice man, as well as a highly recommended ped. urologist

Re: Ds has to see a urologist - has anyone used Dr. Wasnick?
We had to take Damien to him a few months ago and we were very happy with him.
ETA: Damien has a bad circ too. Dr Wasnick opted not to cut him again and said it was because of his fat pack and they fact that they cut too little. (never heard of this term till he used it) He also said by the time he reached puberty it would "fix" itself. I was glad they didn't have to cut him because he is older and I didn't want him traumatized so at least you are going while Landon is still a little one. I wish we had taken Damien back when he was a baby and I was concerned.
Good Luck

Thats exactly what the pediatricians have been telling me all along. I am hoping he does not have to be cut
