DS is 4 wks today and his behavior is making me nervous...should it be?

I'm new to this mommy thing so I'm not sure if this is normal - if DS should be acting THIS different on a daily basis still at this point.

The past two days DS has been eating much less. For a few days he was up to four ounces every 3 to 4 hours most of the day. If he wasn't eating by this point he was screaming his head off. Now, for the past two days, he is sleeping much more in general and falling asleep in the middle of feeding (from the bottle). I am lucky if I get him to take 3oz before he falls asleep.

I am worried that something is wrong because he is obviously not as hungry if he is falling asleep in the middle of eating and the same thing is happening over and over. IN fact, he only took 4 oz at one feeding today and even then he could have done without it.

At Four weeks how many oz approx should he be eating per day? How often does your DC eat at this age?

Should I be worried that maybe he is sick? TIA for indulging me

I think it sounds fine! Try to see when he is most hungry. Then, try to give him maybe 5 oz at that feeding and see how he goes. I think at around that point, I was giving 4 bottles during the day and one at night.

My DS is 8 weeks and he has gone through stages where eating/sleeping has went from more to less than back up again.
It sounds ok, but if you are concerned, you should call your ped.

I was told to keep on checking his diapers if I was concerned with feedings. DS went through the same thing. Now he constantly eats and cuddles. I want to rip my nipples off.
