DS is 9 months and I can't get him to drink out of a cup
He gets all excited but just puts his mouth on it or chews it. Any suggestions?

Nope, that is about right. They just sort of play with it at that age and eventually it clicks and they understand they can drink out of it. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

DS is almost 11 months and still does not know how to use a sippy. He just kind of chews on the top of it.

Hannah just started to really be able to drink from it by herself a few weeks ago.

how long have you been giving the cup? have you tried a few different kinds?
Both mine were drinking out of sippys by then but we started at around 5-6 months old. With Kaitee we had to try a few different kinds before we found one she liked. She also use to play with them, it took her about a month of playing before she figured it out.

DD is just about 9 months old and she chews & plays with it only.
I've been trying to teach her now for a about 3 months, but not every day.
She too gets excited when she sees it.
Eventually she'll realize she can get something good out of it

DD does the same thing with the sippys with the valves on them. when I stopped using those and started with the "take and toss" ones - she got it.

We started offering different sippys around 5 months.
About 7 months he figured how to drink from it, but would just spit the liquid back out.
Now at 8 months he actually drinks out of them. He prefers straw sippys but will drink from the others if that's what I give him.
It takes them some time to really figure it out.

Aly never liked sippy cups. she went right to straw cups. did you try that?
