DS is getting Speech, feeding, and occupational therapy...
We had our IFSP meeting today... DS is getting speech therapy which will include feeding therapy 2X a week and OT with feeding therapy 2X a week... I wasn't sure he was going to get OT because IMO he didn't seem to really need it. But they said it will help with his feeding issues so they went for it.. We used the Long Island Center for Child Development in Cedarhurst... Excellent place. I haven't had to do anything except set up 2 appointments. They are dealing with my insurance company... I wish I had done this 3 months ago, but my pedi kept telling me he was fine.. Go with your gut!!!

Thank you Maureen... I hope so too. He has been trying to talk more. And has said a few new words the last few weeks. So I am thinking speech will be easy.. It is the feeding I am worried about. If he doesn't want to do something, he ill put up a big fight.. It is the Irish in himm. I just don't want him to be traumatized by it.. I heard they can be pretty pushy.. I am not in the mood to be cleaning up vomit everyday...

I hear ya about the Irish stubbornness, believe me!! We deal with plenty of that over here too! Don't stress it though- OT's and speech therapists are used to dealing with all kinds of behavior- trust that they will do the best they can with him- they will know there is no "recipe" that works for every child. They'll do whatever they need to do to best help Aidan. And if you sense they are being too pushy- get rid of them and find a new one!
