DS started daycare
I am going back to work in a few weeks, and they either had an opening now, or I'd have to wait until December, so we started on Monday. he was great the first two days, yesterday was a little rough, but when I dropped him off today, he started crying the minute I put him down and was wailing when I left. And to top it off, he already got his first cold, I think from there and gave it to us at home. I know this is unavoidable, I just thought we'd make it through the first week without getting sick.
I am glad we are doing the transition when I am still home. It would be that much harder if I were sitting in my office, I think.
I know it will get easier, but reasure me, please.

It will get easier - he will get used to the new environment and look forward to it. DD is always so happy when I bring her to Daycare

It definitely gets easier. I look forward to your posts & giving you the same hugs when he runs in, gives his classmates a hug & doesn't pay attention when you leave.

From an old post:

I posted My Top Ten Reasons before but in case you need it:
Reasons to love daycare: 1- They get your kid on a schedule 2 - They potty train for you 3 - They are full of advice on how to deal with "I do it myself" tantrums. 4 - Your kid will learn to share better if he's around other kids 5 - Your kid will get every germ to mankind and become super immune for elementary school. 6 - Your kid will get you sick & give you super immunity to germs as well. 7 - You will get a ton of crafts home from your child...paintings made from handprints, etc. 8 - Your baby will get used to other people & will have less stranger anxiety 9 - Opens up tons of new babysitting options by snagging teachers' phone numbers 10- You have no choice

Re: DS started daycare
thanks everyone! (especially you Barb )
I guess the day went better after I left him, but he was on a pretty good nap schedule at home and now is all out of whack. I know he'll adjust, but right now he is so clingy and tired. I just had to rock him to sleep for the first time in about 5 or 6 months.
