DS was up crying off and on all night long but no fever :(
Poor DS he was up all night! But, he never opened his eyes. Every time I put him down he would cry 15 minutes later and would cry intermittenly even when held. This went on until he ate at 6:30 am and then he slept finally until 9am. He seemed to be very uncomfortable - twisting around when he woke up and arching his back. He has had acid reflux b/f but it never persisted for this many hours. Anyway, he has not even a slight temp and is acting pretty much normal today...what could it be? Also, he was super crankky yesterday as well...
he had his monthly visit (5mo) this morning but i called to reschedule it b/c i didn't want him getting shots after not sleeping like that...so we will talk to the ped tom but wanted to see what you ladies thought

It sounds like AR to me. I would call the dr & see what they think. Was he sleeping flat or inclined?

He sleeps on the incline positioner. I thought maybe that too but he has had it before and it was NEVER like this - it has never kept him up all night long like that. and, usually, he would stop crying pretty much immed when held.

He has been exhibiting MANY of the symptoms especially the past week or so but his gums look the same.
Q - if he was teething would the crying be constant? Or, would it stop and start like that - also would he wriggle in pain? He was also knawing on his hands and sucking on all his fingers and rubbing his face with drool.

Re: DS was up crying off and on all night long but no fever :(
Hmmm... Well I know that AR is at its worst around 4 months. However, if he has signs of teething than it may be that as well. I would give him tylenol & maybe some chammomile tea before bed. Hope he feels better soon. My son had on and off pain when teething, but almost constant drool. It was always the worst at night.

Yea I kknow - DS's reflux was the worst at 4 mos it was so bad we put him on Zantac - unfortunately the Zantac made him so much worse so we stopped - for the past month he has been so much better thank god but. maybe this was a bad reflux night...it would be worse than it ever was times a thousand though so I really hope not b/c mommy can't take many more all-nighters
Thankks for your help!

My son had bad AR also. He was on axid, but it didn't help much. The mylicon & tea helped more I think. They just grow out of it after a while, but it does come on and off like that. Nights like that I would use the boppy, or prop up the mattress & use the sleep positioner. Don't worry things get much better after 8 months.
