DS will be trying cereal at his next feeding...

Wish us luck...

I'm nervous about what his reaction will be. Please dear God let him just take it like a good little boy...Chat Icon

don't worry if he doesn't take it. at his age he doesn't NEED to have cereal so if he doesn't take it, wait another week or so and try again. he may also still have the tongue thrust reflex (which is perfectly normal) which will make him push the cereal right back out with his tongue. good luck!

I'll do a bottle first then the cereal.

How creamy should it be for the first time? Or should it be a little liquidity?

it should be very thin and liquidy. it will almost be the same consistency of formula or breastmilk. there are instructions on the box on how to make it for the first feeding. i think 1 tablespoon of cereal with 3 tablespoons of formula/water/bm? you can gradually make it thicker over time as he gets used to it.
