DS's first tooth is poking through! ... Question!
So today DS was chewing on my finger and I was like "ow!" ... his first tooth is poking through on his bottom gums  (and um, yeah it kinda hurts when he bites me, lol).
So I can see just the very tip of the tooth if I look hard enough  Now here's my (dumb) question - how long before you can see more of the tooth come out? Or until it's fully out? Are we talking days here or weeks?
On a side note, I am equally  and  about this - I feel like once they have teeth, they're no longer LITTLE babies, KWIM? It's so exciting that he's growing, but I'm also sad that he'll never be this little again
ETA: He's 7 months old (5 months adjusted)

I don't think you can really tell how long. My baby has 7 teeth (still a little baby to me ). A few seemed to pop up all at once. He has one of his front teeth and the other one has been poking through for about 2 months now. Doesn't seem to be budging!

Such a bittersweet moment! It took weeks for DS's teeth to be fully exposed.

i asked the same thing about 6 mos ago
It took DS' first teeth a WHOLE MONTH to come in all the way, from the first white spot to the whole thing!

We got the bottom two showing at the same time. About a week and a half later they were fully out. They're sooooo freaking cute.

well DDs first tooth poked through 2 weeks ago. At first it was just a little spot, now its looking mor like a tooth, but id say its still only about 1/4 exposed.

Sophia "cut" her fifth tooth on 10/3
its over a week later and it looks the same, just a little teeny white nub broken through
it can take weeks!

this is about right. Within a week it will be much more noticable, I think about a month and it will be almost fully out!

I would say about a month until it is fully out. You will probably see another poke through before that - they usually get them in 2's

I am going through the same thing right now with DS! He is teething much more lately (to the point of crying  ) I've been looking in his mouth everyday but yesterday I noticed 2 "blisters" where the teeth are ready to come in. I can't believe he is already old enough to have teeth!! He is only 4 months and he is still my baby

Not sure how old your DS is but my DS is 4.5 months and his first tooth poked through a little over a month ago, it still looks exactly the same. I am hoping it just stays there for a couple more months till we go into full blown teething. 
I think it can be different for every baby, my friend told me her DS has the same thing, a tooth break through and it took months to fully come in.
I can't believe my DS has this tooth at all  He is growing so quickly!!

For DD, each tooth took about a month to be fully exposed... except for these 1 year molars. She's been working on those bad boys for over a month and a half now and they're still not all the way out!

my DS tooth popped out at 5 months and I was so upset about it! it took a long time to come out, I would say about a month.
Looking back at pictures now I LOVE how cute his little teeth were
