Duct cleaning: does this estimate sound high?
We got a new dryer in September and it has never worked well. It literally takes 3 hours to dry a load of laundry. I had Sears come out to take a look today and the technician told me it is not the dryer, but that the air duct is really clogged and needs to be cleaned out.
I called a local place and they quoted me $175 to clean it out. I told them that this sounds high and asked them how long it takes and they said it takes 45 min to an hour to unclog it, which I guess makes the price sound more reasonable.
Thoughts?

That sounds very high. Is your husband handy? My DH was able to open it up and we were able to clean it our ourselves.

He isn't that handy, but I think this estimate might MAKE him become handy if you know what I mean
