due date change
so based on when i ovulated (i used opks), my due date should be july 23. I went for a sono today and was told july 27.. only 4 days off, but is that even possible? I'm 100% sure of when I conceived! lol

Re: due date change
Due dates are almost always based on your LMP. They're basically an educated guess, or estimate, anyway. I wouldn't really worry about a 4 day difference. The sono due date is based on the size of the baby and averages of babies at each gestational age. It's not exact by any means.

due date change
so what do you go by? the lmp or the u/s date? Is one usually more accurate than the other?
Seeing as it's still so early, I'd imagine the u/s date might change again too

due date change
I go by what my ultrasounds shows, which also happen to match up with when I know I ovulated. If I went by my LMP, I would be 4 days ahead! I know I ovulated late though. It's possible that you implanted late?

Re: due date change
Based on everything you've told me with your beta numbers etc., honestly july 27 sounds more accurate to me. I think you had a late implanter or took longer to ovulate than you thought. In any case I wouldn't worry about a few days difference. Just go with the 27th for now and then double check with you OB when you see them.

due date change
We did IVF so I literally know the minute he was conceived and my growth sonogram never matched up. DS due date was listed as 3 days earlier than it technically was. DS didn't care about those dates though and came 3 days earlier.

yeah it could make sense- your #s were a few days ahead of me since the beginning

Re: due date change
That happened with #1. I knew FOR SURE when I ovulated and conceived, but that doesn't matter. It's the first day of last period that they go by and the sono. It was off by a few days as well. Didn't matter since I went beyond due date anyhow and had to be induced since at 41wks there was still zero progress (not even 1cm dilation). So in the end, I don't think it really matters. Due dates are just kind of a guess anyhow, it's not really when baby will necessarily make his or her appearance, ya know? If I were you, I'd just go by what the doctor tells me since they're going on baby's size, etc. It seems more accurate than a conception date.

Re: due date change
Go by what the ultrasound shows even though the office will usually always go with your LMP date. My due date was 11/6 and twice the sonograms showed that she was measuring as if due 11/7, once 11/5 and the last time 11/10. She came on 11/5.

Re: due date change
My doctor always uses LMP and only LMP to calculate due date. Even though I know for sure when I ovulated and it was early on cycle day 12. So I think I'm a little ahead of what he'll say.
I gather due dates are not an exact science, so I don't get fazed by it.
