Dumb clothing questions
What does the baby wear to sleep?
And what do they normally wear during the day?
I'm just trying to figure out how much clothing we need! DH is going to be a SAHD and probably won't be doing laundry during the week, so I want us to have enough to get us through a week!
TIA!

Re: Dumb clothing questions
When DS was super little, it was a side snap undershirt to protect the umblical cord stump, a diaper, and a footed onesie sleeper. Over that was a sleep sack with those swaddle wings or just a blanket to swaddle.
Once he was a little older, it was just a thicker footed onesie sleeper with the sleep sack. HTH
eta: there is a TON of laundry to do at the beginning. DS wore newborn sizes for about a week or two. We did not get a lot of things in that size. He went through about 3-4 footed sleepers a day, and we did the laundry every other day. I think your DH will have to do a lot of laundry unless you are ok with buying a ton of clothing that will not get worn for a very long time frame.
eta2: When DS was between 1-2 months old I kept him in the footed onesies all of the time. They are just easier IMO to change and not over the head when the baby has no neck control. Other parents are more of the jeans and shirts from the get go. If that is you, then 2-3 pairs of pants and shirts a day. They spit up and have explosive poops a lot at that age. After the 2-3 month mark it is a little easier to get them dressed in pants and tops.

Re: Dumb clothing questions
When DS was first born, he was usually in an undershirt and carters sleep & play type footed jammies. Then swaddled to sleep. He wore them day & night as he slept a lot of the time and we really weren't 'going' anywhere!

Re: Dumb clothing questions
DD wears feety pajamas. I never put her in the sleep sack and she hates to be swaddled.

Re: Dumb clothing questions
i found that two piece outfits worked best for us when DD went to sleep...she was always up at odd hours and when she needed a diaper change, it was alot more convenient to just pull down her pants vs working buttons on PJs. my DD didn't really spit up all that much so cute outfits (one piece, two piece etc) were fine for us.

Re: Dumb clothing questions
DD wore mostly sleepers for a while-during the day and then a fresh one at night. I also used a lot of those soft pants paired with onsies-anything that seemed really soft and comfy.
For DS I bought a bunch of sleepers and a couple outfits for days when we want to mix it up, the soft pants and onsies.

Re: Dumb clothing questions
Ds lived in onsies with sleep & play one piece outfits during the day... my ruling was anything that was one piece was easiest... i hated dealing with pulling off pants if i didnt have to... especially when i was home... bedtime is really up to the baby... ds was a hot baby and he also HATED being swaddled.. he slept in a onsie and sleep sack and then switched to fleece pj's
