dumb question about ipod touch

how do i know what generation my ipod touch is?

i am looking for a case online, and my choices are 2nd/3rd generation or 4th generation.

i just bought my husband the ipod touch 32gb for xmas (he bought me the same one) and want to get a case for him for his bday.

someone suggested i try otterbox.com
any other recs for a good case?

i don't see anywhere on the packaging what generation our ipods are though

My husband bought me a 4g for my birthday in November and we would have never known it was a 4g if he didnt ask the salesman. (they really should mark the generation somewhere)..anyway I heard that if you have the 2 cameras in it its a 4g..if i were to guess thats what you probably have since you just got it at christmas....hth...

i think if you go into the settings on the ipod and it gives you the model# you can look it up that way... thats what i have done...

the ipod touch with bluetooth is 3rd gen

thank u, it is 4th generation...

otterbox's cases aren't available yet. can anyone recommend a good case? apple has so many choices...
