Dumb Question- is swimming in a pool ok?

I forgot to ask the Dr at my appt last week and our pool is now open and heated...I'd love to swim this weekend- and I assume it's fine...but thoughts always creep into my head with all these no- nos...

Anyone know for sure?

Definitely ok. It feels great to go in the pool, especially when you're starting to get bigger cause you feel weightless. Enjoy!

You know I remember hearing somewhere that being submerged to your chest helps swelling.

Bring it on!

absolutely fine...unless you are high risk and there is a reason you cant be swimming! even for me, who is on strict bed rest, the dr said i can submerge myself to get wet just not to swim at all "bc swimming is exercise" LOL

ETA: i had my son in aug 2007 and i spent that entire summer in a pool!!!

I've been told that swimming is one of the best things to do while pregnant b/c of the lack of resistance and weightlessness. I can't wait until our pool is warm enough to jump in!

as long as the pool is checked and chemical levels are fine u r okay but wait till after ur first trimester. and do not go into a hot tub!!!! n you can only go in if you dont have any pregnancy issues like short cervix contractions etc. but again call your dr they know u better than me

best of luck

Thanks! We have a mineral purifer that uses 80% less cholorine and the water is always perfectly balanced with very little chemicals (It's like a big Brita for the pool! Chat Icon )
I don't have any restrictions so I think I should be good to go!
