Dumb question on baby's hearing
Can the baby hear music if I have headsets on vs. music is being played out loud in a room?

Re: Dumb question on baby's hearing
I wouldn't know but I wouldn't think the baby can hear music from headsets!

Re: Dumb question on baby's hearing
If you are wearing the headset? No, I doubt it. In a room they can. I have heard if you put the headset on your belly, they can hear.

Re: Dumb question on baby's hearing
After a certain point I know the baby can hear the vaccuum running, the dog barking so I asume they can hear music in the room.

Hmmm from headsets through your ears i am not too sure about that one. I jsut know they can hear if we put the headset on our bellies and other noises aroudn us.

Re: Dumb question on baby's hearing
I would say no he can't you need to have the headset on your stomach for the baby to hear it or play the music aloud in the room.

Re: Dumb question on baby's hearing
No- he cannot hear the music through your ears. The music would need to be right by your stomach- and even then, it's muffled by the amniotic fluid as well as the uterus, muscles, etc.

Maybe the baby would have some sense of vibration but I would not think he could hear it. Incidentally, my friend just told me that she knows her baby has good eyesight because the baby "was looking right at us" during her sonogram. So I would not consider a question about hearing to be dumb!!!!!

Re: Dumb question on baby's hearing
at my 15 week email, babycenter said the baby can definitely hear outside noises and you should start talking to it.
