dumb question re: cooking apples
when a recipe calls for cooking apples - is that just the normal kind of apples you buy in the supermarket?
or is there a different type of apple that is specifically to use for cooking

i believe there are special cooking apples only meant to cook with. I dont know what they are called..i just remember my mom making pies when i was little telling me not to eat the apples because they were only meant to cook with.

When it says that I use Granny Smith. Actually whenever I cook with apples I use Granny Smith.
