Dutch Wonderland Or Sesame Place

For those of you who have been to any of these amusement parks can you tell about your experience? I would like to take DD to either Dutch Wonderland or Sesame Place. She will be two years old soon so if you can let me know which of these would be more appropiate for her.

Thanks!

I can't go to Sesame place because DS is afraid of elmo. We went to Dutch Wonderland last weekend and they had a blast. DD, who just turned 2 the begging of July went on almost all the rides. You or your DH will have to go on most of the rides with her but it's really not that bad. We all had fun.
The park is extremly clean and we only had to wait on one line out of all the rides which was a water ride that the 4 of us went on (I think because it was hot that people wanted to cool off). The food and admission also seemed reasonable as far as price. We didn't go to the water area because we did as a day trip since we are only 2 hours from it.
The day before we went to DW my SIL's and their family took the kids to Sesame Place and they were very disappointed. It was a Saturday so I don't if that makes a difference, but they said that it was dirty and overly crowded. My one SIL had gone before and didn't have that experience. They don't plan to go back.

I have never been to Dutch Wonderland.

We just came back from Sesame Place 2 weeks ago and it was GREAT! It exceeded our expectations. We went with my DD who is 11 months, a 2yr old, 3yr old and 4r old. They all had a blast! There were some water rides for adults, some you can take your DC on with you. The lazy river. But the kids really enjoyed the Splash Castle and the sprinkler park section, where there are just sprinklers everywhere. They had a blast. I would highly recommend it.

We stayed overnight , but when we went back the next day the kids just werent into it. I think they were exhausted. So when we go back next yr we are doing it all in one day.

DS is almost 2 and he loved both of them. Dutch Wonderland he liked the rides, and Sesame Place the shows and the characters. If you want to do an overnight trip Dutch Wonderland is better because there are other things to do in Lancaster.

Re: Dutch Wonderland Or Sesame Place

We've never been to Dutch Wonderland but we went to Sesame Place last week. DD is 2, and we went with friends who have a 2 year old and a 1 year old. All of the kids had a blast. It was a nice park. I didn't find it dirty at all (besides one disgusting incident, which had nothing to do with the park!), we brought our own food in so the food being gross wasn't an issue, etc. There were water parts and dry rides, all the kids enjoyed everything. It's a smaller park, but it was nice. We went on 2 weekdays, so while the crowd was definitely busy on the nice day we had, it wasn't nearly as bad as a beautiful weekend day would probably be.

And with Sesame Place, it's free for kids under 2, so this was the perfect year for us to go Chat Icon

YES!!! Dutch Wonderland has an awesome little water park...it's new. We had so much fun when we went there last year even though DD was still a baby.

Re: Dutch Wonderland Or Sesame Place

We were all set to go to Sesame Place this weekend when a bunch of parents told us that Dutch Wonderland might be better since Gavin is still young....I have also been told the surrounding area around DW is nicer than SP...but again, this is all hearsay, and I have also heard opinions contrary.

We have decided on DW this year and next year we will likely try SP.

I will give you an update next week.

Re: Dutch Wonderland Or Sesame Place

I haven't been to Dutch Wonderland, but we did go to Sesame Place. My DD had such a GREAT time!! We didn't think it was dirty at all - it was a really nice park. My only complaint was that they didn't have a changing area - but we managed.

The food is like any other park - not the best, but not horrible either. We actually left the park to go to dinner at a nearby restaurant and then came back for more rides and fireworks (we went on 4th of July).
