Dyson owners a question..
I bought the DC17 last week because of all the hair my dog is losing and the cat as well. I love it for the carpeted rooms, but not so much for my area rug anymore. Im going to return it, but Im not sure if I should get the ball one or just order the canister.
I had the Kenmore Progressive that I loved but I feel like it wasnt sucking as much as it used to and I've cleaned it and everything.
Also the DC 22 and 23 are about 100$ difference.. does it matter which one?

Re: Dyson owners a question..
I just read that whole thread and am still confused. We got the Electrolux canister vacuum for our shower but haven't used it yet (saving it for our house). We should be closing this week and I hate canister's, so I wanted to trade it in for a Dyson Ball vacuum but the guy at the store said it's not made for hardwood floors (my floors are about 90% hardwood). I'd like any recommendations if anyone feels like giving them.
THANKS!!

He's correct... They aren't really while the DC21, 22 and 23 are... A lot of people have the Ball for their Hardwood floors but I use to suggest when I sold them the canisters instead... Plastic wheels can scratch wood floors while rubber wheels don't...

Re: Dyson owners a question..
Ok so.. then the canister would be better for me? We have 3 bedrooms with carpet and the rest of the house is wood floors with an 11x13 area rug in the living room.
I love how the DC17 picks up on the carpeting but I think its going to eventually rip out the fibers
Sorry if I didnt read the whole thread right.. just really like the Dyson and wanted to stay with it.
ETA I get it now lol. Im going to return it and order the canister from Dyson. Thanks!

The DC17 works great on carpeting and that's what it was designed for and it's only sold here in the US because we are wall to wall carpeting people.
If I'm correct the DC23 comes with the optional wood floor attachment. Use that for your hardwood and the motorhead for your carpet.
