E-mailing the hiring manager/HR Director Directly?

Still on the hunt.

I'm applying for a job at a non-profit that I think I would be perfect for. Would you e-mail the director of HR in addition to applying the conventional way? Or does this come across as annoying?

It depends some times HR managers have nothing to do with hiring. I work non- profit and hr just handles paperwork. We have a recruitment department who sends off info directly to the department looking to hire so just make sure you send it to the right person! :) I would say it's always good to follow up I did that with my job now and my previous job. Both non profit and again I spoke directly to department director.

Hiring manager/Program Director.

I went this route in addition to submitting my resume through the company site.

Since my Director knew me, I had an interview the next day.

Had to be screened by HR first.

Largest non-profit health/hospital system in area and I know they tend to hire based on recs of people you know.
