ear infections/tubes
DD is 2.4. just came back from ped, second double ear infection in a month- she had one 3 weeks ago, at recheck fluid still there, infection gone. yesterday she had 102 and this am a green nose, so we went to ped. he switched antibiotics, basically said first one probably wasn't completeyl healed- but at this age- a toddler, i mean, when do you worry about frequent ear infections? how many? this is only her second ear infection ever, she had one when she was 9-10 months old, nothing since then

Re: ear infections/tubes
I wouldn't worry at all. DD is 26 months and has had about 8 in her life. The dr kept saying, one more and tubes but I couldn't bring myself to do it--DH agreed. I knew it was from teething.

Re: ear infections/tubes
I just asked the ped about this at his appointment this morning. I can't remember exactly, but he said something to the effect of 4 ear infections in 6 months or 6 in a year (I think). He also said that getting ear infections in the summer months that continue over and over into the winter months is a sign as well.
For your DD, I wouldn't worry. It sounds more like she isn't responding to the medication more than anything. maybe the change in antibiotics will help.
