NO WAY!! I know I will allow it at a younger age then I might want based on society today if Noah wants it but NOT as a child. NO WAY.
Then again, I wonder why I'm ok with a girl ( daughter) doing it? And not a son?

My sons won't be permitted to get earrings until they are old enough to actually take care of having a piercing. If they REALLY want an earring when I feel they are mature enough to make that decision... sure. It's not permanent. However, my sons (at 7 & 5) are NOT mature enough to take care of earrings. I guarantee they would have an infection or a ripped earlobe within a week.
It's fashion. I don't pretend to know what is 'in' with the little crowd these days!
I will not consent to any permanent body mods or tats while they are still minors. That's a choice that they will have to live with forever.

I have noticed this too. I noticed a maybe two year old on Noggin, they have the commercial for the big green help and the little girl shows you how to recycle. At the end her brother has an earring in his ear.
Not for us.

i don't think it's a matter of them being like an adult--especially with little girls. little girls just look pretty with sparkly earrings i never thought of them as being grown up.
for a boy though--no chance in h ell will my son get an earring as a child. if he chooses to get one in HS, that's his choice--but not as a kid.

Not a fan but sometimes culturally it's what people do. It's not for me but if I saw a boy with it - it wouldn't bother me.
