Posted by SweetestOfPeas ] oh great. I drink tap water all the time, do does DH
Do you use bottled water for cooking and ice cubes too?
honestly yes
I get 4- 5 gallons of poland spring delivered a month for $33
and that includes the cooler- with hot and cold water
it's worth it
That's what we started doing too....especially after our MTBE scare a couple of weeks ago...it all just confirmed there really IS something in the water.

Well considering the house I live the woman died of cancer, then a few months after the woman across the street died. Then I come to find out that 5 out of the ten neighbors behind me have cancer of some sort 3 of them breast cancer. Then my mother is 3 blocks away and my brother was diagnosed with leukemia and the girl on the end of her block has bone cancer and then by talking to the neighbors we find out that 2 woman on the block have breast cancer. By talking to my brother's doctor he is convinced that it is the water in the area, they had a company who illegally dumped into some streams in the area and contaminated everything. My mother just found this out by doing some research. So needless to say we are all moving out of West Islip. OMG!!!!

Re: East Islip schools?
West Islip has it's own school district and East Islip is one of the BEST SD's on Long Island. They actually over shoot their budget by a large margin each year...They are one of the very few schools on the Island that does!

Really? I don't understand then why they are currently on an austerity budget. The school budget definitely did not get passed at the last vote and they are making drastic cuts in teachers and programs.

Re: East Islip schools?
I have to look into that...One of my really good friends is a teacher and follows this stuff very closely...He was just over on Sat and we had a discussion about this because my FH and I are looking to buy a house but I have a 2yo son, so we want to buy in a great SD. That is what he told me.

Re: East Islip schools?
DIdn't Boomer Esiason go to EI and donate a lot of money to the SD?
budget spinoff: sometimes even when budgets are voted down and SD's are on "austerity" taxes still go up more than the austerity amount... Its a crock of poo if you ask me!

He went to East Islip. We have a great football field and gym/workout room because of him.
