East Northport Moms
Found a house I love on a # street/Ave. I have a ton of questions for you!
How is that area? Is it a "desirable" part of town? Which Elem school?
Who is your Pediatrician?
Is there a soccer league? Cheerleading for elem girls?
How is the library?
What parks do you go to? Beaches?
Do you have a town pool?
Town of Huntington, right? Do they offer summer camp programs?
How is the YMCA in Huntington? Is it too far from East Northport to really use on a regular basis?
Any other tips/info would be really appreciated.
Thanks, Tara

Re: East Northport Moms
I live in the El section of East Northport.
My Ped is Dr. Muia-Chisena. She is a solo practice ped based in Centerport. She is fantastic!
I belong to Elwood Library.
I go to Elwood park, and Hecksher in Huntington.
For beaches, I go to Centerport beach and Crabmeadow

Re: East Northport Moms
I live down the road from Michelle - more towards Northport. I'm in the numbered streets/aves.
My ped is Commack Pediatric Partners. I know a lot of area mom's go to Dr. Cavanaugh and love him and I'm considering switching if he takes my insurance.
Beaches - Sunken Meadow, Asharoken, Crab Meadow.
Park - Hecksher and there are a few small ones within the area that I like b/c they're small and quiet usually.
I love it here. Great schools, nice area and best of all, LOW taxes. My parents live in Commack and can't believe how low ours are compared to theirs. But to get the low taxes you have to be in the Northport district. If you're East Northport Elwood or Commack schools, taxes are much higher.
FM me with any questions Tara :)

I live around the corner from Lorimarie, so I"ll just say ditto except for the pediatrician. I go to Cavanaugh/Huntington Medical Group.
Some of the number streets are cut through streets with higher traffic to main roads/elementary schools/train stations so just be aware of that when you're looking.
Soccer league - two huge ones (one is travel) Cheerleading - yes Dance studios - several

Found a house I love on a # street/Ave. I have a ton of questions for you!
How is that area? Is it a "desirable" part of town? Which Elem school? i love the houses there all different and not cookie-cutter. Barb is right that some are cut throughs and you want to double check that. the elementary school for that area is Pulaski Rd.
Who is your Pediatrician? i use northshore pediatrics, dr.conrad/tomei on 25A
Is there a soccer league? lots of them! also youth center Cheerleading for elem girls? i think so...but have no concrete info on that
How is the library? i worked there for 13 years-it's the best! well, i think so.
What parks do you go to? Beaches? sunken meadow, crab meado, asharoken
Do you have a town pool? no
Town of Huntington, right? Do they offer summer camp programs? not sure but probably..
How is the YMCA in Huntington? Is it too far from East Northport to really use on a regular basis? i don't think too far, though i don't go so i don't know how it is.
Any other tips/info would be really appreciated.
Thanks, Tara

Re: East Northport Moms
How is that area? "the number streets" as we called it, kids now call it "the grid" I prefer that area over other areas in east northport
Is it a "desirable" part of town? I'm not sure what parts are more desirable than others, but I don't think you can go wrong in east northport
Which Elem school? most likely "pulaski road" elem., enpt middle school and npt high
Who is your Pediatrician? north shore med in centerport Is there a soccer league? yes, soccer is big in enpt-npt
Cheerleading for elem girls? my friend has a dd and I've seen her in a cheerleading outfit, it has something to do with cheering for a youth football team.
How is the library? good, they have these great weekday and weekend programs for the kids - babies to teenagers
What parks do you go to? the library park, kew ave. park, crabmeadow
Beaches? yes, tons. we go to different ones for different reasons
Do you have a town pool? dix hills is the town pool. I took swimming lessons there as a kid. but i have not been in a long time
Town of Huntington, right? Do they offer summer camp programs? yes, and yes, a bunch of different ones at different locations
How is the YMCA in Huntington? Is it too far from East Northport to really use on a regular basis? I hear its good but yes a bit far imo.
growing up on just the other side of the number streets and still living in the same area, I think its great. I can walk to the post office and the supermarket or ride our bikes. as a kid it was also great being close to all my friends, the streets are wide in the section your looking at.
