Easy Christmas dinner ideas
I am hosting Christmas for the first time this year. It is also my DS's first Christmas and I really want to enjoy it with him rather spending the whole day slaving away in the kitchen. Does anyone have any easy but good Christmas dinner ideas? We will be having 10 people.
I was thinking of serving a minestrone soup for appetizer. I would be making it in the crock pot.

make some sort of roast that you can just throw in the over... like a roastbeef or a roast pork! You can just put it in the oven and walk away! Also, mashed potatoes are super fast to make and while you meat is resting you can roast veggies in the oven! Or make roasted potatoes in the over earlier and warm/crisp them when the meat is resting!

You can buy the honeybaked ham from BJ's or Costco and make all the sides the night before and reheat everything in the oven the day of.
Roast pork is easy. You can throw that in the oven with potatoes and carrots around it.
Lasagna you can make ahead of time and then reheat.

I say a pre-cooked ham or east herb crusted roast beef is perfect. Roasted potatoes, green beans and glazed carrots on the side w/dinner rolls. Very easy.

Def honey glazed spiral ham. Throw in the oven and done. So yummy and easy. A couple of sides and you are good! Also if you wanted a pasta course, go to Salpino's or something similar, get a few boxes of frozen stuffed shells or manicotti, add sauce, top with mozzarella &bake. Delicious!
I think i am going to do stuffed shells, pot of meatballs, a nice salad, bread and antipasto platter and be done!

We've always done "Italian Christmas"... big pot of home made sauce and meatballs and sausage, a baked ziti, and my nana makes bracciole. Everything can be made ahead of time.
