Eating at my desk....
I get really sensitive about eating...I need my time to eat, and especially IF I am eating at my desk....why can't people leave me alone for the 5 seconds I am eating?
This woman just comes over to my desk and can clearly see that I am eating. She makes no comments like, "sorry to bother you while you are eating" or anything. She stars asking me all these business questions...cna't it wait?? And THEN...(I barely know this woman)...she proceeds to stick her hand into my bag of chips and says "Can I have one of your chips? Thanks...I'm starving!"....
UGH - i DON'T EVEN KNOW THIS WOMAN!!
Am I being stupid or would you be annoyed as well?

OMG - that is a HUGE pet peeve of mine. Half the time I don't even take a lunch break and all I ask is for 5 MINUTES to eat in peace.
But no- people have to come over and STAND OVER me while I'm eating.
GET AWAY!
I swear sometimes I want to crawl under my desk and eat so nobody can see me!
And as far as her reaching into yoru chip bag- what the HECK? That is just rude!

i think that happens in every office. but i cannot imagine walking up to someones desk and just snacking on what they have for lunch. so nasty!

OMG, I have issues eating at work too. I can't be bothered. I get so nasty if anyone tries to talk to me when I'm eating.I turn into uber-beyotche. I just want to be left alone for one hour, that's all I ask. I used to have an alcoholic secretary who used to love to talk (or better yet, spit) to me when I ate my lunch every freaking day.

I hear you!!! It's so annoying. I rarely eat lunch anywhere but at my desk. And to top if off, I get my bosses lunch too. So she knows that when I come back and I'm going to be eating lunch. Why then, does she insist on asking me questions about work stuff at that time? Yesterday and went to another room to eat...this way I couldn't be bothered. I think I'll do the same today - take my People magazine and eat away from the desk.

I hate it too. I don't take lunch or breaks away from my desk cuz I'm the "woman" and have to take everyone's phone calls when they are on break! And pleeeaassse keep yo nasty azz hands off my food!

I used to work at a job where sometimes I wouldn't even get to eat. Let me tell you I am not nice when I am hungry. My old company used to tell us that we HAD to take time for lunch, but most of us wouldn't or couldn't really. I know this sounds preachy, but you have to make the effort to take time for yourself during the day just so you can gather your thoughts and actually digest your food. If you make it a priority, eventually it will become part of your routine. I know it's easier said then done.

I HATE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I sit right near the kitchen and EVERYONE walks past my desk at all hours of the day. They stop and talk whenever and it especially annoys me when I am eating. I mean do you see that I have food in my mouth?
