Egg whites

Right now I only give DS the yolks-

However I cook with the whole egg all the time (french toast- chicken cutles , all baked goods, etc...) and he's never had any reactions...

Im wondering when I could start giving him the WHOLE egg scrambled (not just the yolk) and egg salad and things like that....

Is there any age - when its "ok"?

DS will be a year next week...

Re: Egg whites

I gave Julia eggs whites and yolk at 9 months and she had no reaction to them, every baby is different though. I would try it now with Ryan and see how he does, if he's eating things with egg in it already I'm sure he will be fine with it.

Re: Egg whites

The ped just gave us the go ahead to feed Stephanos the whole egg. He's 10 mos old. We've given it to him scrambled and boiled and he hasn't had any reactions. At 9 mos, the ped said we could give him french toast and he didn't have any reaction then either. So I think if Ryan hasn't had a reaction to the french toast, it's safe to try the whole egg.

Miranda was getting whole eggs at 9 or 10 months I think. Our doctor never said we had to do yolk only since we had no history of allergy in the family.

Actually, at DD's 9 month visit the doctor said we *had* to give her the whole egg by 12 months since the MMR shot she was getting then has some kind of egg product in it. So, we had to make sure she wasn't allergic before the shot.
