Electrical panel
Does anyone know roughly how much it is to go from a 150 to a 200 amp service? We need to upgrade our electrical panel and I would like to get a rough estimate of what to expect

Re: Electrical panel
Yeah, I think upgrading a panel is roughly 2K (regardless of whether you are going from 100 amps to 150 amps, or 100 amp to 200 amps, or 150 amps to 200 amps).

We paid about $1600 with a 10%coupon off of Angies List.

not to ask a question you weren't wondering about, but why do you need to upgrade? honestly a 150Amp from an amp perspective, should be able to power most houses even with central air etc. Only if you run out of spaces, is it really a problem, and even then, you can double up a lot of breakers.

We are redoing our basement and eventually putting on an addition so we want the extra amp plus my husband wants to put outlets outside for various things!

Re: Electrical panel
My husband is an electrician, he does side jobs updating panels. He charges 1600-1800 depending on what you need.
