Embryo storage and Empire?
Does Empire cover the yearly storage fee for embryos? DH's insurance just switched to have the same coverage as Empire and we were hoping they will cover this cost. I'm so psyched to also have IF coverage for the future, what a huge gift that is

I don't have Empire, but typically Embryo storage is not part of any IF insurance coverage. It's all out of pocket for as long as you store your embryos.

Yeah that is what I had thought as well, but I just got our annual letter from the RE about the storage fees and there was a notation about how those under the Empire plan can disregard the letter

I am not positive but when i called to check out my infertility coverage (i have empire nyship)- i think under the coverage for IVF it said embryo storage was covered...but Im definitely not positive

I have Empire BCBS and while I have 'full' infertility coverage (unlimited IUIs & 3 cycles of IVF), freezing is NOT covered. I think my Dr. said that it was $1,500 for a years storage of embryos.

I have Empire NYSHIP and it is covered but I have to pay a copay each month (still not sure why). My RE office charges $100 per month and I pay $20.
