Emergency Passport Renewal

I am leaving on Sunday July 1st for the caribbean and I just realized my passport expired YESTERDAY!!!!

I can't get through the Passport Agency in NY to get an appt.

What should I do?

I think they changed some of the rules on passports "temporarily" because they are so behind.

We're traveling to Aruba in July & my husband's passport hasn't arrived yet. We were told to bring his license and his original birth certificate (I believe it has a raised seal) and proof that he's submitted his passport for renewal (we have a receipt from the post office). Otherwise, I'd go to the office in NYC since you're leaving this weekend.

they did mine in 3 days..you will need to have the docs sent today.

go on the webiste, fill in the online form and call them for forwarding instructions.

I dealt with a woman named Donna at ext 100. She was wonderful. I sent it in on a Wed and had my passports back Saturday.

Also, they have relaxed the rules for the Caribbean, Canada and Mexico.

You can also try going to the CT office. My friend did this a few weeks ago without an appt (just stood in line and waited for a cancellation) and got her passport in 1 day!

Oh, make sure to bring copies of your itinerary and try to print the application online and bring it to the office pre-filled. They appreciate those kinds of things!

i ended up using rushpassport.com. they are on 6th avenue across the street from Penn Station
i will (hopefully) have my passport on Friday
