Emergency Poop question...
Just changed DS diaper and the poop looked hard, like adult poop.
What the hell does this mean and what do I do?
Do I need to call the emergency Ped hotline? Or is it something simple?
TIA!!

Re: Emergency Poop question...
That's normal. Emma's poop used to be like toothpaste, but now it's like adult poop most of the time. Sometimes it's messier. It's from the iron in her formula. If it's hurting him to go though, he could be constipated and a bit of water could make it thin out.

Re: Emergency Poop question...
it just means that you the baby needs a little more fluid..Try putting a little prune juice in the bottle or some water with the formula. That worked for me.

ITA. It means he needs more fluids. If he was running a fever, he may be slightly dehydrated but it's completely normal.
Consistency can run from mustard seed explosions to hard as a rock.

Re: Emergency Poop question...
I agree with the ladies. Unless it's hurting him then I wouldn't be worried. Maybe just try a little water in his formula...
My son is 14 1/2 months and his poops are almost always mushy like toothpaste and messy too... I hate cleaning those up...
