Endocrinologist
Please recommend yours in the Smithtown/St. James area. Mine is refusing to treat symptoms, and will only treat to the blood test results. I need to switch!

I use Sound Endocrinology in Stony Brook. Right off 347 near Burger King and Kumo.

I've heard Dr. Sussman is rough around the edges but I couldn't see her anyway and saw Dr. Cella in her office. I really liked her; she spent time with me explaining things :)

dr sussman is soooooo sweet.
That's so funny - I've heard some GREAT things about her and then things that were very blunt and rough around the edges; I have always heard she's a great endo though so that's always good, that's why I was willing to take the chance! She wasn't seeing new patients until Sept (And I had called in March) -- Dr. Cella was great :)

If she is still in the office on Mt Pleasant Rd. I had MAJOR issues with that office, to the point that I had to go to the state. It had more to do with the staff than her though.

She's not -- She opened her own practice. I was being seen by another doctor in that office on Mt. Pleasant Rd. and it really was a miserable experience!

My dad has seen Dr. Sussman for years. He has MANY health problems and she coordinates with a lot of doctors. There have also been a few times he has been in the hospital for reasons other than endocrinology and she comes to visit when she is there. I do feel she is blunt but sometimes that's not such a bad thing.
