Endometriosis surgeons?
Any Drs/OBs/REs that removed endo successfully? I was stage IV back in 2003 and have not had a lap since. Considering another go at it.

Endometriosis surgeons?
I went to the Center for Endometriosis Care in 2010 for my second endo surgery. It was out of network for me, so it wasn't cheap, but it was well worth it. The level of care I received was night and day from what my care was like here with my first surgery.
You definitely want a surgeon who will excise the endo, rather than cauterizing it. As I have now learned, excision is the gold standard of endo care.

Re: Endometriosis surgeons?
I had surgery a year ago for stage IV. They did not get it all bc he found some things we were not expecting. I will need to have surgery again at some point. I was successful after my surgery with a much better IVF cycle both on egg quality and quality. And I got a bfp. I used Tamir Seckin and he is located in NYC.

I was referred to Dr. Seckin but I was warned that he does not accept insurance. They said $17,000 out of pocket. Can this be paid in installments?

CEC accepted installments. They also wrote off a lot of what the insurance didn't cover. I would imagine most doctors do the same.

He is out if network but he accepted what my insurance paid. I had to pay a co-insurance fee that was around 5k. It was not ideal but when researching a lot were out of network. They really do work with you there. Fm with any questions!!!!

Wow great to know! I was told no insurance but maybe it was bc he did not accept their insurance. I will call then Monday and go from there. I am having some issues with my kidney that my primary is thinking endo and ordered me a CT scan but I rather avoid that and just get another surgery bc it's been 10 years and I know it's still on my bowels. Thanks so much.

Re: Endometriosis surgeons?
I saw Dr. Farr Nezhat. He has an office in the city and in lynbrook. I saw him in lynbrook and had my lap at Winthrop. He also doesn't take insurance but if you have oon coverage he takes whatever the insurance pays and just had to pay my deductible. I saw him about 2.5 years ago.

Re: Endometriosis surgeons?
Can't any RE do this surgery? Isn't this the same thing as a lap? When I was at North Shore Dr. Rosenfeld performed the lap on me since he suggested to rule one more thing out. He has since retired but all I had to pay was the copay for Outpatient Surgery.
I'm so confused how so many doctors listed on this post don't accept insurance for this????

With endo, you're really better off to have a surgeon who specializes with endo. They'll be more likely to see and remove all of the endo than someone who is not a specialist.
I used to see Dr Rosenfeld. I left his practice when he kept insisting my endo was not back. It was. And it was Stage IV. The specialist I saw was able to remove the endo and improve my quality of life drastically.

Re: Endometriosis surgeons?
There are only a handful of surgeons that do endo surgery the correct way. It's something that is worth researching and paying for. Dr. Kligman is a RE in Cornell who did my endo surgery and was fantastic but that was over 10 years ago and I rather now find an endo-only Dr.
