Enfamil Gentlease vs. Similac Sensetive
My DS came home on regular Similac. Well in the past two days he's gotten really fussy and incrediably gassy so last night we switched him to Enfamil Gentlease (so far so good). Its a sample can. I also have a sample can of Similac Sensetive as well. I was thinking of trying the Similac Sensetive after I'm done with the Enfamil Gentlease to see which one he liked (but I don't want to change his formula too much).
Which brand do you recommend and why?
Is there a price difference between the two brands?
Where can I get Enfamil coupons if that's the brand we choose? I have a ton of $5 off Similac coupons but Enfamil sent me just 1.
I hope this does the trick. Luckily he was keeping it all down (my DS ((knock on wood)) has never let an ounce of formula go to waste. He's a very strong eater, but was horribly gassy and looked so uncomfortable.

i am pretty sure that those two formulas are very similar with regards to their ingredients.
DS never had an issue when i switched his formula, i don't see a problem with you trying out both and seeing which he likes better. good luck!
ETA: my DS was the same, he ate well and almost never spit up, but he got very very gassy. the gentlease really seemed to help.

RJ was gassy too. We went with the WalMart Gentle kind and it did the trick.
FYI, I was looking for immediate results, but it took a couple of days

Re: Enfamil Gentlease vs. Similac Sensetive
My Daughter was on the gentelease for a while and was doing great on it, but if I remember it was just a powder. I was so tired of using the powder I switchted to the similac sensitive Ready to Feed and she was much better. I think sometimes if the powder wasnt mixed just right she was gassy. I like similac much better since my other chikd was on it from birth and had no trouble with it.

Re: Enfamil Gentlease vs. Similac Sensetive
it could also help to add mylicon drops to the bottle, that seems to help my DS

Re: Enfamil Gentlease vs. Similac Sensetive
DS was on the similac advanced the first week and he was MISERABLE! I switched to gentlease and he's been great! I called enfmail and told them I was no longer getting coupons, the lady put me on the list to get them and she's sending me a free can of gentlease! Go on their website and register with family beginnings they'll send you stuff. XOXOXO BOTB

I agree with LB, they are pretty much the same thing.
Price wise they are pretty comparable as well.
The only main difference is that the Sensitive has an RTF and the Gentlease does not.
There are store brands as well.
It took about 10 days for DS to adjust to Gentlease.

Re: Enfamil Gentlease vs. Similac Sensetive
Every experience is different. I used both the Similac Sensitive and the Gentlease. I hated the Similac sensitive powder, it foamed up so much. I would have to wait for the foam to go down or put Mylicon in every bottle. I felt it made DD's gas issues worse. She has been on Gentlease for months now with no issues since.

Re: Enfamil Gentlease vs. Similac Sensetive
There are differences between the two. Gentlease has broken down proteins and reduced levels of lactose while Simiac Sensitive is lactose free. DS is on Similiac Sensitive and it has dramatically improved his fussiness and gas, and we prefer the brand similac in general. If Gentlease is working for you, I would stick with it.

Re: Enfamil Gentlease vs. Similac Sensetive
thanks!! I may try both brands than. Right now he's sleeping and calmer than the past 2 days and that's only a day since we've switched.
We would be using powder anyway. Too pricey for our blood the ready-to-feed

We've been using the walmart one too. Its half the price of the name brand. We've been happy with it.
